Day of Caring 2013

Every September, Pearce Real Estate closes all its offices and goes as a group to some worthy organization, where we do all kinds of work, physical and otherwise.  This year, we picked the hottest day in a couple of months to visit Columbus House, a homeless shelter in New Haven.  In the blazing sun, we moved furniture in a warehouse, painted a new wing for homeless people being released from hospitals, and sealed driveways.  My most heartfelt sympathies go out to the latter team, who ruined clothes and got sunburns, while doing yeoman's work, so quickly that they ran out of supplies two separate times!

It's always a great day to be a Pearce Pro, and to feel lucky for the blessings we enjoy.  I'm also proud to be a part of the Commercial Department on Day of Caring, as they always turn out in force, ready to undertake the toughest and dirtiest of jobs without complaint.  We do feed them pizza, but we owe them so much more!  They truly understand the importance of giving back, and the community is better for their efforts.
